Which data directories are provided for me in the IAI? | 1.) IAI UNIX computers: /home/iai/user/<username> = home directory IAI (*) /home/iai/ext/user/<username> = extern home directory IAI (**) /home/iai/data = intern project directories /home/iai/ext/data = extern project directories /home/stud/<username> = central home directories of the institute Directories are usually provided by automounter, in other words it will be mounted on access, for example, by a "cd" to the directory. (*) is provided on internal systems of IAI (**) is provided on internal and external (=visible from the outside) systems of the IAI. On a external desktop PC it is mounted under /home/iai/user/<username>. 2.) My central UNIX / Windows account is locked, neither can I log on to a computer that is in the central computer rooms nor in those of the IAI. What should I do? | 1.) please contact the GSG to unlock your central ID 2.) The IAI UNIX ID becomes valid again after the hourly synchronization, then the IAI Windows ID can be unlocked independently by following https://acc.iai.uni-bonn.de. (Otherwise the IAI Windows ID will be enabled at latest at the morning after you have unlocked the central UNIX ID.) |
Can I use my central UNIX ID to get access to the Windows computers in the IAI computer pool? | No, in the IAI, UNIX and Windows IDs are managed separately. Every computer science student with a valid UNIX user ID should be able to independently create a Windows IAI-ID via the following link.
